YEAR ONE

Well, we made it a year! Ryan and I celebrated our one year anniversary on August 12! To celebrate we spent the day in Salt Lake. Ryan bought some new golf clubs and then took me to the Gateway to shop! It was so much fun to be able to hang out all day- just the two of us! That night we went to dinner at the MELTING POT! Seriously, it's divine. and pricey. We went there on our honeymoon and I absolutely fell in love. Everything is fondue. They bring out a cheese fondue to begin with and things you can dip in it like bread and apple slices, etc. Next they bring out the main fondue where you cook the meat! They brought out lobster, filet mignon, chicken, pork, shrimp, the works! They only cook for a couple minutes and ta-da! Perfection. The best part? The chocolate fondue. To die for. Just when you think you are so full you cannot even take another drink, you manage to lick the bowl clean. The chocoloate fondue comes with strawberries, cheescake, bananas, and cake. On a side note, I accidentally ate a piece of cake (thinking it was cheescake because it was identical.) It was such a weird texture to me since I haven't had gluten in almost 6 years but I am just so glad I am not too sensitive so it didn't ruin the rest of the night!

After dinner we went to a movie and then went to our hotel room! It was such a fun getaway! It is crazy to look back and see how fast a year goes and look at all of the changes that have came our way! We had to leave SLC early on Saturday morning because my beautiful cousin Ashley was getting married that morning. It was such an amazing experience to be in the temple exactly one year later to remember those sacred things that were said and promised during a sealing. It was a special day!

For our anniversary, I got a new camera! I love it! And Ryan brought me BEAUTIFUL flowers! They were gorgeous and I was so sad I didn't get a picture of them.
Ryan got new sound system that he wanted so that when we watch movies our walls shake because it's so loud. haha.
I also made a surprise book of our first year together. I ordered it from Shutterfly and it turned out darling. I was glad that I decided to make it so we always have it to look back on and remember our first year! I plan on doing more for the coming years so I made it a goal to get better at picture taking! Here is a glimpse of a few of the pages! (I was going to make a collage of the pics so this post wouldn't be so long but I didn't want to take the time to do that, so sorry!)

I also made Ryan a "Coupon Book!" It had about 20 coupons in it that he can use whenever. He loved it! Here are a few that I thought were fun!

I'm so grateful I got so lucky to get a man like Ryan! He is everything I've ever wanted and treats me so well! It was a great anniversary and we are well on our way to anniversary #2!

  3. Tawnie - I came across your blog today and it is so good to see you taking such good care of Ryan! We grew up like 3 houses away from each other and it is so nice to see when your friends are so happily married. :) I just may have to steal your idea for a coupon book - so cute! Congrats on one year of marriage!
